Honored for her sloganeering. At a fundraiser in September, 2016 the former first lady sorted half of her opponent’s supporters into what she called a “basket of deplorables.” The deplorables immediately put her quote on hats, and two months later, they voted.
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.”
